AQUATOP VIRTA TRANSLUCENT is a water-borne, industrial topcoat designed for exterior wood applications, offering a translucent finish that enhances the natural appearance of wood while providing protective properties.

The product is formulated with a semi-matte or gloss finish, depending on the variant, and incorporates advanced UV absorbers to maximize exterior durability. It is a quick-drying formulation with excellent early moisture resistance and blocking properties, ensuring it performs consistently across a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels. The translucent variant allows for tinting in a variety of translucent colours, enabling customization while maintaining the wood grain visibility.
Surface Preparation
The wood must be free from wood dust and contamination. The moisture content of the wood should be approx. 13% and should not exceed 15%. Pre-treatment is required for wood substrates not meeting Durability Class 3, EN 350:2016. Product usage
AQUATOP VIRTA TRANSLUCENT is primarily used as a topcoat for exterior wood applications, particularly in joinery such as windows, doors, wooden lodges, and timber cladding.
It is typically applied via airless pant spray systems or air-assisted airless spray systems, though it can also be used for maintenance or touch-up work with brushes or rollers. The product is suitable for use on various wood substrates, including softwood, hardwood, Accoya, and modified wood, provided the wood moisture content is approximately 13% and does not exceed 15%. Pretreatment with appropriate primers or preservatives may be required for wood substrates not meeting durability class 3 standards. The product is designed to withstand diverse climatic conditions, making it ideal for exterior applications where durability and aesthetic appeal are critical.
Storage
Storage temperature is +5°C - +30°C. Shelf life in unopened containers: See “Best before date” on the label. Keep containers tightly closed after use.
Application methods
Saturation spray and brush machine application is also possible.
