Tikkurila Pontti Floor Oil
Tikkurila Pontti Floor Oil is a colourless, natural-oil-based treatment for interior wooden floors and stairs. Containing natural oils and wax, it penetrates the wood to help protect the timber while preserving its natural appearance and enhancing the grain.
Once treated, the wood becomes more resistant to water, dirt, stains and everyday impacts, helping keep floors looking their best and making them easier to maintain. Unlike an opaque floor paint, Pontti Floor Oil allows the natural character and texture of the wood to remain visible.
Suitable for new and previously oiled wooden board and parquet floors, this oil is ideal for maintaining and protecting timber flooring in homes and other interior spaces. It can be applied using a brush, lint-free cloth, pad or oil spreader.
Please note: Pontti Floor Oil is colourless and cannot be tinted. If you want a coloured finish, consider a suitable tinted floor lacquer instead.

Suitable Applications and How to Use
Suitable surfaces: Interior wooden board floors, parquet flooring and stairs, including new or previously oiled timber. The manufacturer also identifies other suitable interior wood surfaces such as worktops, shelves, doors and furniture.
Preparation: Ensure the wood is clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Sand bare timber as appropriate and remove all sanding dust. For previously oiled floors, clean the surface thoroughly and check compatibility before treating the entire area.
Application: Stir the oil thoroughly. Apply a thin, even layer using a brush, lint-free cloth, pad or oil spreader. Allow the oil to penetrate the timber, then remove any excess in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Do not leave pools or thick layers of oil on the surface.
Drying and use: At approximately 20°C and 50% relative humidity, drying takes around 10–12 hours, depending on the amount applied. The surface can withstand light use after approximately 48 hours and full use after 7–10 days. Ensure good ventilation throughout the drying process.
Important safety advice: Oil-soaked cloths, pads and other application materials can self-heat and ignite. Handle and dispose of them strictly according to the product label and safety data sheet.
