Suitable Applications and How to Use
Helmi Furniture Oil is suitable for indoor wooden worktops, kitchen countertops, dining tables, shelves, furniture and wooden toys.
Preparation: Ensure the wood is dry and free from dirt, wax and grease. For bare wood, lightly wet the surface, allow it to dry, sand away any raised fibres and remove all sanding dust. For previously oiled wood, clean thoroughly and test the product on a small area first.
Application: Apply a thin, even coat using a brush or lint-free cloth. After approximately 20 minutes, remove any excess oil and polish the surface with a clean lint-free cloth or polishing machine. Do not leave a layer of excess oil standing on the surface. If required, apply a second coat no sooner than 12 hours later, following the product instructions.
Drying and curing: Allow approximately 10–12 hours for drying under suitable conditions. The surface becomes slightly resistant to light use after around 48 hours and reaches its final properties after approximately two weeks. Maintain good ventilation throughout drying and curing.
