Tikkurila Helmi Furniture Filler, also known as Helmi Kalustekitti, is a ready-mixed, water-based wood filler specially developed for repairing small holes, dents and imperfections in interior wooden furniture and woodwork before painting.
Designed to create an exceptionally smooth surface, this fine-textured filler provides excellent filling capacity of up to 3mm, helping prepare timber for a professional-quality painted finish. Its smooth consistency makes it easy to apply and sand, leaving an even surface ready for decorating.
Suitable for both new and previously painted surfaces, Helmi Furniture Filler is ideal for furniture renovation and general interior wood repairs. It works particularly well alongside Tikkurila Helmi furniture paints, helping achieve a smooth, durable and attractive final finish.

Suitable Applications and How to Use
Suitable surfaces: Interior wooden furniture, cabinets, doors, window frames and other wood surfaces in dry rooms. Suitable for both new and previously painted surfaces.
Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose material. On previously painted surfaces, remove flaking paint and sand the existing coating until matt. Remove all sanding dust before filling.
Application: Apply Helmi Furniture Filler using a suitable smoothing or filling knife. Press the filler into small holes, dents and imperfections, leaving the surface as smooth as possible. For deeper holes, apply in two or three layers rather than attempting to fill the full depth in one application. The maximum filling capacity is 3mm.
Drying and sanding: A thin application of approximately 1mm can generally be sanded after around one hour. Thicker applications will require longer drying times. Once dry, sand smooth and remove all dust before applying your chosen finishing paint.
Finishing: For the best results, finish with a suitable Tikkurila Helmi furniture paint or another compatible interior coating.
