Product Description
Tikkurila Optiva Primer is a water-based, acrylic primer for use on new and previously painted interior walls and ceilings. It reduces absorption and provides a key for subsequent finishing coats.
 
Suitability
Suitable for new and old surfaces, fresh plaster, GRP, dry lining board, previously painted alkyd coatings.
 
Application
Apply by either bush, roller or airless paint sprayer.
 
Why is Tikkurila Optiva Primer so good ?
Optiva Primer has some truly unique properties.  For mist coating fresh plaster it's a game changer. Unlike a standard diluted contract matt coat that leaves the surface porous,  Optiva Primer not only primes fresh plaster but seals it too. The clear benefit of this is found when you come to apply the more expensive top coat paints, the coverage of top coats on top of  Optiva Primer is far greater than a contract matt mist coat as the surface is sealed and non-porous. 
Optiva Primer is also breathable and can even be used on lime render surfaces, combine Optiva primer with either Tikkurila Optiva 5 or Tikkurila Optiva 3 durable top coats for a fully breathable system
 
Coverage: 6–8 m²/l with one coat.
